Looking down the shingle beach along one of the failed groynes of Porlock beach. The groynes were intended to keep the shingle of the Porlock Ridge in place and so protect the pasture land behind. Over the years this proved futile and the land has returned to being a saltmarsh. As such it provides a valuable habitat for many unusual species.
