Shepton Mallet Church

Shepton Mallet Church
The Church of St Peter and St Paul in Shepton Mallet dates back to the 12th century although there are signs of a previous Norman church on the site.
Much of the present building is 15th century in origin with further remodelling and augmentation taking place in 1836.

The tower, built in 1423, comprises 4 stages and was originally intended to have a spire.

Inside is a fine oak wagon roof and a 16th century pulpit.
