Welcome to the Somerset Guide to Tourist Attractions
A constantly popular holiday destination, Somerset has no shortage of attractions with something for everyone. The South West Coast Path begins in Minehead and Somerset boasts some oustanding coastline ranging from seaside resorts and beaches to the outstanding natural beauty of the Exmoor coast. However, you don't have to stick to the coast if you want beautiful countryside. Somerset has the kind of rolling hills and chocolate box villages long associated with the archetypal English countryside. The Mendips (ncluding Cheddar Gorge), the Quantocks and Exmoor are all areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Somerset also has a rich historical and cultural past with abbeys, castles, gardens and classic English houses a plenty. Cities and towns such as Wells and Bath contain some of the finest Medieval and Georgian architecture to be found anywhere within the UK, not to mention the Roman Baths
If you're looking for days out on a family holiday then there's no shortage of things to do whether the sun is out or it's raining. You name it from donkey rides at the beach or feeding animals at the farm to steam railways or visiting Concorde at the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Somerset has it all.
