Home Farm Cottages - Cheddar

4 self catering cottages converted from original stone outbuildings set in 2 acres of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Linen, towels &initial basic necessities provided and guests can use the hot tub (April-Oct, small charge) and children's play area.

Home Farm Cottages consists of four beautifully-converted stone farm buildings, all with original beams and sleeping between 2 and 6 people. All the cottages can also accommodate a cot. The Bakehouse also has a wood-burning stove. All cottages are comfortable, warm and outstandingly well-equipped, and guests have access to a hot tub in the gardens. There is plenty of parking onsite.

The enclosed paddock, where our chickens roam free, is an ideal place for children to play. We also keep a few sheep in the field adjoining the paddock, and children are welcome to join us when we feed them.

It is a great place to relax and unwind with many lovely walks in the area, and is ideally situated for Cheddar, Wells, Longleat, Glastonbury, Bristol and Bath. Sandy beaches are just 5 miles away and horse riding, golf, and dry-slope skiing are available locally.

The local village, Winscombe, provides a wide range of local shops, takeaways and banks, with several pubs that serve excellent family food within easy range.

Home Farm is part of a quiet, peaceful hamlet with a backcloth of the Mendip Hills and views across the Loxton Valley and its patchwork of fields. The cottages are surrounded by a mixture of farmland and National Trust property in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The local vantage point of Crook Peak offers views as far as the Brecon Beacons and across the Somerset levels.

Approaching from the North on M5 From Junction 21 on the M5, take the A370 towards Weston Super Mare . At the first roundabout, take the first left (signed Banwell). In Banwell, turn left at the T junction,(A371) passing through the village up the hill (the road narrows here). At the brow of the hill you will pass Banwell Castle on your right. After the garden centre on your right and just beyond the Mooseheart building on your left, take the next right, Church Road (signed Loxton and Barton). Then right again after1/4 mile into Barton Road. Continue for 1.3 miles until the road narrows. Just after here, you'll see Home Farm on the right. Approaching from the South on M5 From Junction 22 on the M5 follow the A38 North towards Bristol Airport. After just over 8 miles, in Sidcot, take a left turn, signed A371 Weston super Mare and Winscombe. Pass through Winscombe village under the Railway Bridge and take the first left, signed Barton. After 1/4 mile turn right into Barton Road, signed Barton. Continue for approx. 1.3 mile to where the road narrows. Just after here, you'll see Home Farm on the right. Approaching from Bristol on A38 Travelling from Bristol on the A38 continue south until the traffic lights at Sidcot. Turn right signed Weston and Winscombe (A371). Pass through Winscombe village under the Railway Bridge and take the first left, signed Barton. After 1/4 mile turn right into Barton Road, signed Barton. Continue for approx. 1.3 mile to where the road narrows. Just after here, you'll see Home Farm on the right.
